September Newseletter from CCDP
Hello Everyone! here is the newsletter for August
listing the upcoming events.
Here are a few upcoming events that we would like to invite all of you to participate in, if possible!

We are hosting our annual Ice Cream Social on September 7 at 2:00, to be held at the Lake St. George Pavillion.
Second Saturday is Cancelled, normally 9/13.
Votebuilder training is cancelled, also was on 9/13.
Lunch on the Lawn September 19th 11am - 1pm.

Second Saturday in October on 10/11 will be with the Young Democratic Voices and Leonard Assante will be here speaking.

Longer Descriptions:
We are hosting our annual Ice Cream Social on September 7 at 2:00, to be held at the Lake St. George Pavillion. Tickets are $10 at the door. Attached is the flyer for you to distribute to your Dem friends and associates. Please work on getting the word out about this event. Be sure to mention there will be a Cake Walk, as people seem to really enjoy that.
We need people to volunteer to man this event-- cake server, ice cream server, prize cakes distributor, possibly someone to sell wine. We also need two types of cakes to be donated-- sheet cakes with frosting but no decoration to be served, and special/decorated cakes we can give as prizes. Please contact me at 847-567-2323 if you can donate cake OR you can volunteer to work.
If you know anyone who might be interested in performing simple background music, ie a guitarist, please reach out to them and let me know if you have success. This isn't a must but it adds to the festive atmosphere.

Lunch on the Lawn September 19th 11am - 1pm — From their Facebook page: We are pleased to announce that the 18th Annual Lunch on the Lawn is scheduled for Friday, September 19, 2025, and will be at the fairgrounds again this year! For those of you who might not be familiar with this event, it is our biggest fundraiser of the year. We sell tickets ($15 advance purchase, or $20 at the gate) for access to the vendors and give you a custom painted bowl to enjoy freshly made entrees and desserts from more than 50 vendors. There will also be live music to enjoy!
“Action Item” – Sign up to run for a local office in Cumberland County. — From our CCDP Chair: If no one is willing, we are just handing it over to the Republicans. Then we have NO ONE to blame except ourselves.

We have two offices open in the CCDP executive committee. The secretary's position is open and a district 3 and 5 position and both District 7 representatives are open. All organizational committees except for Financial are open for volunteers as well. Contact Linda Boerman, our chair for the Secretary or district representatives. For the organization committees use the form on the volunteer webpage.
All of these are very important to us being successful in the midterms. If you need job descriptions for any position please contact Linda Boerman our chair.
